The National Research Council of Italy (CNR), with the technical support of CISCO and Penelope Spa, within the framework of EXPO Milano 2015, has launched the project Safety for Food (S4F). The goal of the initiative is the definition and implementation of a forum for a scientific collaboration capable to urge the international debate on food safety in order to support risk prevention and decision-making about the international food flows. Safety for Food aims at facing the major food safety challenges considered under both scientific and legal pointof view. In order to pursue its objective, S4F has developed a digital support which will create the basis for a broader collaboration among researchers and experts through the exchange of knowledge and expertise in order to define a set of shared rules and guidelines on the emerging issues of food safety. Safety for Food aims at introducing a globally adopted platform to support risk prevention and decision-making in the international food flows. The main objective of the project is the digital evolution of the food supply chain in compliance with international rules in terms of safety and quality standards. |
