The main objectives are to analyze industrial and cooking quality of rice samples, with Calasparra guarantee of origin, from 3 harvesting years (2006, 2007 and 2008), to compare the results with those from stored rice samples from 3 previous seasons, to set up quality groups according cultivation fields, type of production (organic or conventional), varieties (Bomba or Balilla x Sollana) and harvesting year. Such study has not been undertaken before at a local level. The farmers association Cooperativa del Campo Virgen de la Esperanza participates in this project. The relevance of this work is that it can contribute to strengthen the agricultural activity that has implications for rural development as well. |
