The authorities of Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) today formed a taskforce to drive out fear from the people about the standard of milk and milk products available in the country. The seven-member body was formed to collect samples of milk from different daily farms of the country and to test its standard at BAU laboratory, said Prof Dr Md Harun-or-Rashid, head of Dairy Science Department of the university ’s Faculty of Animal Husbandry. The taskforce will examine the standard of milk and milk products through research and publish the findings of the research, Dr Harun, also chairman of the taskforce, told our Mymensingh correspondent. The university focusses on agricultural aspects and so we have an obligation to come forward when dairy milk has become an issue of concern on whether it is safe for us, he also said. |
