- The president said the sale of food crops has contributed to rise in food smuggling to neighbouring countries - On Saturday, June 24, Tanzanian authorities held 10 trucks of food products heading to Kenya at Tarakea in Northern Tanzania Tanzanian President John Pombe Magufuli has shocked the region again after banning the sale of unprocessed food crops to its neighbours including Kenya. Magufuli said the ban will be enforced immediately as the sale has contributed to the rise in food smuggling to neighbouring countries.
