As Diwali draws closer, people throughout the country buy new clothes and move towards the celebration of the victory of goodness over evil. As a part of the celebrations of the festival, it is a tradition that people prepare sweets and snacks and eat it along with their family. Since it is not possible for many people to make the sweets and snacks themselves, they buy it from various shops in the city. However, like every year, there have been several instances of adulteration in the Diwali snacks and in a recent raid, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) confiscated adulterated snacks from places in Mumbai. FDA Commissioner Dr. Pallavi Darade told Mumbai Live that adulterated snacks worth ₹3,00,000 were found and confiscated from shops in Dharavi, Kurla, and Borivali. |
