Abstract: |
The Sessions court has upheld the punishment awarded by the magistrate court to a Mumbai-based firm and its vendor for selling adulterated food products in the market. A case had been registered against the company after a surprise visit was conducted by the complainant, a Food and Drug Administration (FDA) officer, on the firm's premises in 2011. The FDA officer had got in touch with the food product seller as a decoy customer. He identified himself as a wholesale purchaser and gain the trust before leading a raid. It was the laboratory reports that proved the spurious nature of the products. |
