| Abstract: | St James Smokehouse’s former American head buyer has alleged that the firm routinely passed off lower-priced imports as a premium “Scottish” product. Denise Chadwick launched a legal action claiming she was fired after warning owner Brendan Maher he could be jailed for the alleged fraud. The firm, which is based in Miami, Florida, but operates out of Annan, Dumfriesshire, has denied her claims, saying she was sacked for poor performance. |
