The Country Manager, HarvestPlus, Dr Paul Ilona has renewed calls for collaboration to help tackle food fraud. PricewaterhouseCoopers, a multinational professional services firm based in London,(PwC) estimates that food fraud costs the global food industry up to $40 billion yearly. In an interview, Ilona stressed the need for agencies to respond to consumer concerns about food products most susceptible to adulteration. Besides, he observed also that millionsof Nigerians still remain malnourished through lack of adequate micronutrients in their diet.
