There has been resentment among people on the negligence of Food and Civil Supplies Department to check repeated complaints pertaining to use of chemical in fruits by vendors. Many of the seasonal fruits available in the market are reportedly dipped in chemical to make them ripe and ready for sale. Raw fruits of various kinds are being dipped in chemical solution called Calcium Carbide. The intention behind the move is to get quick result for the vendor who then take the fruits in the domestic market to offer for sale. The solution used by vendor is considered unsafe and has adverse impact on human health. |
