The State human rights commission asked the commissioner food safety to furnish the details of the number of samples of food articles and fruits collected for testing and the number of samples found not meeting the standards of the Food Safety and Standards Act 2006. The commission chairman Justice Prakash Tatia also asked the number of cases of food adulteration pending in the courts. The food safety commissioner has been asked to furnish the details of these queries by December 20 this year. The commission in an earlier order has asked the Agriculture department to furnish the details of the infrastructure facilities available in the state to prevent food adulteration and the major chemicals used by famers to ripening of farm produce. |
