Abstract: The EU’s food safety warning system needs to be investigated in the wake of the egg contamination scare, a leading academic claims. Four UK supermarkets have taken products off their shelves after an estimated 700,000 eggs from Dutch farms implicated in the Fipronil scare were distributed to Britain.
