Taking cognizance of the news reports on food adulteration especially peas, almonds, milk and other things including fruits and vegetables, the State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) on Thursday issued notices to the additional chief secretary, medical health and family planning government of Rajasthan and have sought a detailed reply. The government is asked to put on record the action taken on the food adulteration and on how many cases were registered and sent for prosecution. A division bench comprising SHRC chairperson Justice Prakash Tatia and member Justice Mahesh Chandra Sharma have asked the state government to reply what kind of punishment available in cases of food adulteration. “ |
