Pulses, milk products and chili powder were found to be adulterated after an inspection of samples collected from 22 locations in Angul Friday. Some more food products have been sent for laboratory tests, officers said. It was alleged that food adulteration was rampant in Angul town. Bowing to the demands for an inspection, food samples collected from various hotels and grocery shops were sent to Mobile Food Testing Laboratory. Giving priority, pulses, milk products, oil and spices were tested and they have been found to be adulterated.“We are going to conduct similar raids in areas like Talcher, Athmallik and Pallahara,” said District Public Health Officer Rakesh Kumar Sahu. |
