The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) is carrying out province-wise crackdown on the sale of unpackaged spices and confiscated 29,712 kilograms of loose spices while inspecting 379 food points. The Authority started carrying out raids on Tuesday after expiry of a deadline given to the spices sellers for not selling the unpacked spices and printing the suppliers and other details on the package. The Authority is fully active and energetic to ensure the implementation of new regulations with the start of New Year 2019, said PFA Director General Captain Muhammad Usman (R). He said teams inspected 141 food points in Lahore Zone, 109 sites in Rawalpindi and 129 in South Punjab out of 379. The teams also warned 144 food outlets, asking them to improve hygienic condition. |
