Abstract: NOAA Fisheries announced on Monday that they have taken action to include shrimp and abalone in the Seafood Import Monitoring Program (SIMP) by December 31, 2018. Shrimp and abalone was initially excluded from SIMP, which was created to combat seafood fraud and illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing.
