To conduct food sampling and testing in the area of Majha, Second Food Safety van was flagged off here today by Health & Family Welfare Minister Brahm Mohindra from Civil Hospital, Amritsar. Giving details about the food safety van,. Brahm Mohindra said that this dedicated van would especially visit the rural areas to check the food adulteration and also report regarding adulterated milk, Urea, turmeric and foil coated burfi etc. He said that two technical supervisors would conduct testing of around 500 samples in a day within the area of Majha and submit the report on the spot. Talking to the media, Brahm Mohindra said that Punjab is the first state to launch the Food Safety App to provide significant information about the adulteration in food items and sampling process. |
